You may (or may not) be familiar with out last Kickstarter for Adventure Post. Some of the Virtue Artwork for Adventure post, done by Indi Martin, is so fantastic we felt it needed to be spotlighted in a couple of different ways as its own project.
The first one we are bringing to Kickstarter is for a deck of Playing Cards which feature this fantastic and original artwork!
Head on over to the Kickstarter if you want to learn more about the project, and hopefully support it!
The Language of Magic is a deck-building card game for 1 to 4 players inspired by the works of Richard Garriott.
The Language of Magic is a deck-building card game which can be played in two ways: 2-player duel – players attempt to build an arsenal of powerful Words of Magic to overcome their opponent, or 2-4 player cooperative or solitary play – players work together to battle the Lich and its minions, defeating it before it can cast its final spell. As a solo or co-op player, you take on the role of the Avatar, chosen heroes of spirituality…who are to do battle with the Master of Hythloth, the vile Nefarious Lord Zorhkar and his minions of the abyss.
There are 26 words of power, each representing their own idea. These words can be combined to make powerful spells to harm, mend, protect, or alter the creatures and the world around you. Some words, the incantations, direct the polarity of the spell. Will you create, negate, or steal? Other words add elemental powers, some can add to or multiply the effect. There are so many possible spells, you will need to play it for yourself to see what you can come up with.
From the Creator, Shawn Michael Hescock: The Language of Magic came about from my long-time appreciation for the world which Richard Garriott created. Specifically the MMO, Ultima Online. As a kid, teenager, and young adult I put many hours into the game and, even though it has been running for just over 20 years, I still go back to it from time to time just to relive the experience. It is a masterpiece of a game that will never get old and my only hope is that we created something that pays the proper respect.
You got it, in fact, we have three more dice for you! Two more after this one. So hold off on your orders until we get all three added and you can help us out so that we can combine your shipping.
We are NOT trying to be a tease, but rather it takes time to photograph and set everything up, and we do other things in between. Such as shipping your orders!
So this one is our new “Book” Die!
The book has been a symbol for things through human history. Wisdom, Truth, Knowledge, History, and more. In Fact, it is even used sometimes as the basis for a symbol of an entire set of philosophies, such as in a religion, cult, or in the principles of Richard Garriott in the Ultima Video Games.
Personally, When I see the book symbol I think of Knowledge, Lost and Magical Lore, and Libraries. Whatever you think of, this dice is sure to be a great addition to your collection!
Get your very own customized Dice, designed by Caveloot.com. The 6-side on these is a symbol with the other sides being traditional numbers. You can also get the 1-side done.
Want your custom dice made using your image or text? Contact us! We can work with you to create custom orders, even in smaller quantities. Minimum recommended order for custom dice is 10+. The larger the order, the more I can get the pricing down!
Like a Die, we already have had made, but want it done in different colors? We can do that also.
*Due to the nature of this product color and pattern’s will vary slightly from those of the photos and each other.
The release of our official Ultima Dragon Internet Chapter Dice went over well with many in the UDIC community, as well as a few sales outside the community! It is a cool logo after all!
When I was recently contemplating what I wanted to do as a die to celebrate the Yule holiday’s this year, I decided that a UDIC Yule Die would be perfect! So themed in a Red and Green Yule Color’s, with a White Dragon UDIC Logo to represent a bit of that wintery feel, and…
The first Yule Celebration Dice I have ever done! I certainly hope you enjoy it as much as I did and as much as you did the first generation of the UDIC die (Which is still available for purchase also).
Ten Percent of all sales for UDIC Logo Themed Dice is going to the UDIC!
Hello everyone, this is Stile Teckel, the owner of Caveloot.com.
I am fairly excited to announce this new line of dice we just had come into stock! Recently I had been thinking it was time to do some new customized dice. I wanted to do a D10 as I have until now, only worked with D6’s.
This lead me into thinking about what would make the best choice for an image and it occurred to me the infinity symbol would be perfect! I apologize as these photos just do not do them justice. They have multiple metallic colors running through them such as purples and blues, that make these absoluteley beautifull when they are turning in your hand (or in your dice tray!) under a light.
Additionally, I needed to place a restock order on my Ankh dice. While not anywhere near being out of my last production run, I am getting low enough I wanted to have some more made up. The previous pattern was not available and so I went with something new this time. The few people that have seen these in person have described them as looking like etched glass. Again, not quite captured fully in photos.
I enjoy doing dice and they have done ok for us, so I decided I also just wanted to bring in an assortment of new ones. I then realized that two of the symbols I was ordering had also been used in the Ultima Video games, made by Richard Garriott.
This lead me to think about what other symbols Ultima may have borrowed from our culture as symbolism in the game. I quickly realized the obvious answer would be the virtues in the game.
Thus new dice are born! Using images I created myself or that are public domain, I used that inspiration to create a new selection of dice for your pleasure! These have some cool symbols which can have a lot of different meanings for different people.
So while inspired by the virtues of the Ultima’s, I certainly would not call them virtue dice.. unless that’s what they mean to you!
Here is a quick gallery of these new dice, and then below that options to add them individually or as a set (at a discount mind you!), to your shopping cart. Of course, you will also find them in the store! Although not in the new section (look under dice). The new section is a bit of a mess right now.. we are cleaning it up as quickly as possible!
