Caveloot.com Photographs from Kamm Island Music Festival Mishawaka, IN

Hello Caveloot.com readers!

We were at the Kamm Island Music Festival in Mishawaka, Indiana this last weekend and thought we would share some photos of the booth setup. Please note that we were given a lot less time to set up than normal so had to skip a few things like canopy disguises, banners, backdrops, and tablecloths. Also, we were on a hill, so yeah, it’s not bad photography things look slanted!

We will be at the Michiana Rennisance Festival the weekend of 8/25/2018 in South Bend, Indiana! Come out and see us set up in our full glory!

Hoverboards Spotted in Grand Rapids by Caveloot.com

Hello Caveloot.com Customers! We just got back from Grand Rapids ComicCon, and as you may know we like to sometimes, when we can find the time or are sufficiently impressed, to spotlight a vendor we saw at a convention.

There were an AMAZING amount of fantastic vendors at this convention! One of the coolest ones though was sitting right next to us the entire event though, with some really cool Hoverboards!

How cool were they? They pretty much sold out of inventory on Saturday!

You can see them, kind of, to the left of our booth here.

Now obviously, these are not the real thing. I mean, you most likely would have heard about it by now. Regardless they are very cool cosplay props! I even ordered one myself, which I plan on hanging from the ceiling with a transparent line! Although it would look good on the wall as well.

Whatever you would do, or wherever you would put your hoverboard, these are pretty cool and they are priced well. They also do all the different models!

The company is called “Hover Matters” and you can find them here!

Hover Matters Hover Board kits are THE BEST on the market. Easy to paint and assemble.

They also don’t know we are giving them a spotlight, as that wouldn’t be a surprise, now would it? So if you order from them tell them you heard about them from Caveloot.com and drop them a link to our post or what not, so they actually hear about it!

Finally, not to miss an opportunity, to you know, sell our own products as well, here are some photos of us at the Convention!

Caves From Capricon to Great Lakes Comic Con

If you have been able to keep abreast with of us late, you have seen we were most recently at Capricorn. Good convention, nice set-up, and the people were very friendly!

Impressed they provided food for the vendors while there, a nice touch. Need to cut back a tad on the mayo on those sandwiches, though! Being the owner often travels conventions himself, things like this always mean a lot! The sandwiches, food, and drinks, not the too much mayo.

Capricon has been around for a long time, and it’s very likely one of the conventions I attended on the heels of my mom, that was so long ago when I was so young I only vaguely remember the conventions.

So if you are looking for places to attending in 2018, be sure to check them out! The owner will be spotlighting at least on of the vendors from Capricon on his blog at some point, Dungeons, Caverns, and Beyond. Something he typically does for many of the conventions he attends if that is of interest to you.

Also, our LARP Scimitar has now been officially pirate approved! Well, at least by the pirate you see in our feature image, or in the small gallery below.

Now that we have been to Capricon, travels will be taking us to The Great Lakes Comic Con!

We are particullary excited about this convention as it will be our first Comic Con. Not only will it most likely be larger then some of our other conventions, we are curios to see how well some of our products are recieved by the potential customers (hopefulyl YOU!).

So please, if you attend be sure to not only stop by and say hello but let us know you read it here!

Enjoy a few photos we took at Capricon!

Convention, Convention, Convention – Capricon is Next!

Hello, everyone!

You have seen a lot of updates from us of late with regards to new product lines. Something that we love and that is not about to stop!

One area we have been a bit time challenged to communicate with you on is our convention attendance. Let’s get you updated!

Tomorrow, 2/16/17, we are heading to Capricon in Wheeling, IL. Founded in 1981 Capricon 37 will be at the Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, IL 16- 19, 2017. We will be there vending, so please stop by and say hello! We WILL have some of our new product lines with us as well!

Now you know where we are going to be next, where did you miss us?

One of the reasons we have been more quiet on this front is we did a lot! Just less then two weeks ago we did Nine days out of eleven at conventions. It was rather hectic!

The more recent one was Winter Fantasy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Here are some photos!

Prior to Winter Fantasy (only two days between) we were at Clash of Ages in Birch Run, Michigan. The picture above there is the company owner when he got home, and the dogs showing their appreciation of it.

Miss Us at Midwinter? Visit Us at Clash of Ages Rennisance Faire In Birch Run, Michigan!

Our next destination taking Caveloot.com to different area conventions is The Clash of Ages Renaissance Faire in Birch Run, Michigan. Taking place from January 27th through 29th.

Where the Renaissance, Viking, Pirate and Steam Punk cultures collide in a weekend of entertaining competition resulting in a Clash of Ages.

You can get more details and information on their Facebook page here.

Thank You Midwinter Gaming Convention 2017

Midwinter Gaming Convention was a fantastic experience for us as a vendor this year! Not only a great convention for the attendees but also well organized for the vendors. Had no trouble getting in, finding out where and how to set up, and what tools I had available to assist. One of the smoothest setups and takedowns for a convention I have had yet!

Thank You Midwinter for running a great convention and allowing caveloot.com to attend as a vendor!

Below are a few photos I took while I was in the exhibit hall. You will have to forgive me, but I had to make this trip myself and so didn’t take many!

Here a snippet from their web page to entice you to go read more (least I’m honest!):

Midwinter Gaming Convention is a 4 day convention held each January in Milwaukee, WI. Started in January of 2000, this event was founded on a Classic World of Darkness Live Action Role Playing game (LARP), and over the years grew to become an international event for the organization One World by Night. Each year it grew and expanded, from a single Friday night in 2000 to a four day event featuring events throughout the weekend. In 2010 we celebrated our 10th anniversary, and for the first time brought in vendors, special guests and other gaming events, making the leap from MidwinterEvent to Midwinter Gaming Convention.

Here are a few painting’s someone did while we were in Michigan. Someone seems to have drunk too many spirits when they did the portrait, though!

Arm Up After the Holidays and Visit Us In Cadillac, MI or Plymouth, MI

Indi Martin © 2016

You have opened your presents and had your holiday dinners. You have stayed out too late drinking and lighting fireworks to bring in the new year.

The Gingerbread Cookies have fought back adding a few pounds; indigestion boils, and the boredom begins to set in after the week of excitement.

You need to fight back after the holidays by finding something to do, and we have the perfect solution to arm yourselves against those post holiday blues!

Your first line of defense is to come arm up with us at CadiCon in Cadillac, MI on January 7th of 2017.

CadioCon is a small community convention put on for the local residents. A smaller convention it none the less sounds very cozy and we are looking forward to attending. You can find more information about them on their Facebook page.

The following day on Janruary 8th, 2017 you can hop down with us to Plymouth, MI for a Comic Con!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM CAVELOOT.COM!
Don’t forget to properly arm your loved ones this season (and keep them inside and warm)!

As we approach the holidays this year, we are busy scheduling conventions, festivals, Comicon’s, and other cool venues that we will be attending in 2017. These will primarily take place in the Mid-West, such as Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and other area states.

If you are interested in keeping an eye on where we are going in 2017, we have added an Events Calendar to the website. We hope to see you!

Over the last few months, we have added several new products to the store.

Currently, this is a project we are not able to put a lot of time into, although we have a vast number of new products to add to our online catalog.

If you bear with us, though, you should start seeing an explosion of new items hitting our store, in January! Not only expansion of current product lines, but also entirely new product lines.

As does time with all things, so does it cause prices to change. All too often we find it goes up. NOT THIS TIME!

Well, that’s not entirely accurate. We did have some price increases on a few things. The majority of our Foam Latex items, though have dropped in price. This is a savings we received from the manufacturer that we are in turn passing onto you.

We DO still have some items in the store we need to apply these savings to still. Again, bear with us, and we hope to get that done in January as our schedule opens up. If not sooner!

Thank you for being a Caveloot customer!

Thank You GriffonCon 40 For Having Us and Thank You Attendees For Visiting With Us!

griffoncon40-4

I recently had the honor to represent my company and products as a vendor at GriffonCon 40!

This was a very special occasion for me as the Griffoncon 40 was a gaming convention to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Griffon Bookstore. The Griffon Book Store not only carries books but also has been the center of the South Bend, IN gaming community (and distant surrounding areas) for just as long.

Historical gaming, tabletop, RPG, Card, Board, or Miniatures, whatever your poison you could not only find excellent product choices at the Griffon but also expertise with a smile from its caring owners Ken and Sara. For desert, they treated you like a family member instead of a customer.

I grew up spending as much time at the Griffon or adventuring in the worlds it sent home with me, as far back as some of my earliest memories in life, as I have done just about anything else. While I can’t say I have been going there for 40 years, it is quite close to it.

It was for this reason that when I heard this convention would be taking place, I increased business goals and timelines to sell at a booth based operation format 1-2 years sooner than planned. I can certainly say it was one of the best decisions I have made!

The convention was fantastic from the events to the people. Everyone seemed to be having fun, events were continual and varied, the location was near-epic, and the food was excellent (Thank you Skillet! You could have charged way more, you know you could have, and you didn’t. I feel I speak for the entire local gaming community and visitors, when I say, we appreciate that!).

This turned out to be very fortuitous for me. We set up at the convention because I felt it was a great honor, and something I would regret if I did not do. Recently I have been hit with a few life changes, and I will be signing up to do a large number of conventions, festivals, and other area (and surrounding) events in 2017. I am prepared for this when I need to do it, quickly, because of the decision to attend the Griffoncon.

So The Griffon once again, like it has been doing for most of my life, has reached out, tapped me on the shoulder, and helped me make a subtle change to who I am and how I live my life. Perhaps a bit more accidently this time than usual, but I will take it none the less!

If you were unable to attend GriffonCon 40, but ever find yourself with an opportunity be sure to stop by and visit the Griffon Bookstore. Also pop into their game room, which is the longest continual running game room in the United States of America!
